AfaSci,
Inc. is a biomedical research company based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
AfaSci has been awarded an R01 and several Small Business Innovative
Research/Small Business Technology Transfer Program (SBIR/STTR) grants from the
National Institutes of Health (NIH). We conduct translational research into neuropeptide
and drug modulation on stress, anxiety and pain using electrophysiological
techniques and neurobehavioral assays. We also develop noninvasive rodent
homecage monitors, marketed as SmartCageTM for in vivo
high-throughput screening (HTS) of drug efficacy and safety, and behavioral
phenotyping of rodents. In addition, AfaSci provides contract research services
and is open to collaborations to facilitate research and drug discovery.
